Draft — awaiting legal review. Oxbrivy has no partner universities yet, so nothing below about partners applies today.

How results are ordered

This page explains what decides the order of courses you see on Oxbrivy — in your Admission Plan and in Programs — and how partner universities are shown.

1. What you are shown

  • Your Admission Plan only includes courses whose published entry requirements you meet, or may meet. A course with a stated minimum you miss (for example an English score) is left out. Where we are missing one of your facts, the course stays in and the plan tells you which answer would sharpen it.
  • Programs lists every course that matches your search. A course whose stated minimum you miss is still listed, and marked.
  • Each course’s label — Reach, Target or Safe — is an estimate from its published requirements and your profile. It is worked out the same way for every university. In your Admission Plan, where we do not hold a university’s admission rate, the course says its label is an estimate.
  • In your Admission Plan, “Recommended for you” marks a few courses that fit you best: you are eligible, the course is a Target or Safe fit, and it matches the subject you asked for. They are chosen the same way for every university — whether a university is a partner plays no part.

2. Partner universities come first

Some universities have an agreement with Oxbrivy. Their courses carry the label “Oxbrivy Partner University” and are shown first. Partner universities work with Oxbrivy. We handle your application free; the university pays us for this service.

Courses marked “Oxbrivy Recommended · Apply FREE via Oxbrivy” are also shown first. The "Oxbrivy Recommended" label marks a paid partnership with the university or the university's partner organisation. It is not a judgement about your chances — your Reach, Target or Safe label shows that. We handle your application free.

  • A partner course is placed first only when you are eligible for it (no stated minimum you miss) and it matches the subject you searched. Otherwise it appears in its usual place.
  • Among partner universities, courses are ordered by fit — the same way as every other course — never by how much a university pays us.
  • Being a partner never changes a course’s label, cost or requirements.
  • Partner courses take at most half of an Admission Plan, and at most four places at the top of Programs.
  • “Free to apply via Oxbrivy” appears only when Oxbrivy charges you nothing and the university charges no application fee. Otherwise we show the university’s fee, or say it is not yet confirmed. Tuition, deposits, tests, visa and other charges are always separate.
  • The university alone decides admission. A partner label is not a promise of an offer.

3. Then everything else, by fit

  • Admission Plan: a balance of Reach, Target and Safe courses. Within that, courses named for your subject come first, then those within the yearly budget you gave, then by world ranking. No more than two courses from one university, and — if you named several countries — a spread across them.
  • Programs: courses that match your search, lowest tuition first. Courses that have not published a fee come last.
  • AI suggestions are made by an AI model from your profile and the courses that match it. Whether a university is a partner is never given to the model.
