What you submit
Personal details and education history, including Class 10 and Class 12 (or IB/A-level) qualifications and any pending results.
Up to five course choices. Choose them carefully, because the same personal statement goes to all of them.
A personal statement answering three questions: why you want to study the course, how your studies have prepared you, and what else you have done to prepare. The limit is 4,000 characters in total.
A reference from your school, including predicted grades if you have not finished school yet. Your school usually submits this, so agree an internal deadline with them early.

How to choose your five courses
Spread your choices across ambition levels: one or two ambitious, two realistic, and one safer choice where your predicted grades comfortably exceed the typical offer.
Keep the subject consistent. A personal statement about economics will not convince a law admissions tutor.
Check admissions tests (UCAT, LNAT, TMUA, ESAT) for each course before you apply, since several have September booking deadlines.
After you apply: offers, firm and insurance
Universities reply through UCAS Hub. Offers are usually conditional on your final grades, or unconditional if you already have your results.
Once all decisions are in, you choose one firm choice (your first preference) and optionally one insurance choice with lower entry requirements.
If you get no offers, you may be able to use Extra from February, or Clearing from July.
From offer to Student visa
When your place is confirmed and you have met any conditions (including English language and deposits), your university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
You use the CAS to apply for a UK Student visa. You must show you can pay your course fees and living costs, following the rules and amounts on GOV.UK.
Indian students should check each university’s English requirement: many accept IELTS for UKVI or a high Class 12 English mark, but rules vary.
